Here is a glamore shot at Kirkland's Houghton Beach Park. For those of you whom are familiar with the area, I paddled 2.36 miles (as calculated with Google Earth) round trip to Yarrow Bay Wetlands Park. Very plesant. A nice little private oasis in the middle of the Eastside. Saw two Red Ear Sliders (I think) a blue heron and a dozen juvi-ducks. Perfect lunch time paddle. Posted by Picasa

Ok, so here is a pic of the rigging... if you squint your eyes you can see it. I re-twisted a bow toggle, (hard to explain in fewer than 100 words). I wish the handle was black instead of white, can't seem to find black twisted rope in home improvement stores. I'll have to try a marine store on the way home. Posted by Picasa

TernStyle garnered a lot of praise over the 4th of July weekend. She was inspected and paddled by a number of kayakers and one person who had built a Pygmy Coho, all of whom were either being polite, or they were genuinely impressed. I even got one guy interested in building his own. All in all I would have to say it was a success. Posted by Picasa

All loaded up for July 4th celebrations at Lake Tanwax. I have added a shear line accent, that I think really looks good. Also the deck rigging is on, I mentioned that I would have pictures of it.... I lied. Posted by Picasa

So what do you think of the name? eh? Arctic Tern.... TernSytle...? btw I am also adding the deck rigging now, and will post photos of that once attached. Posted by Picasa

I found it in a arts and crafts store with the asian calligraphy supplies. It is sold in rolls and requires flattening and trimming for the inkjet printer. The ink does NOT smear, even when brushing on epoxy with a foam brush. Posted by Picasa

I finally found the right paper for the job. This "rice paper" (which is a catch all term for asian paper), absolutely disappears when wet.  Posted by Picasa

Once the end pour hardened I drilled a hole in the bow for the hand toggles, and put the name on her. Posted by Picasa

So, I took the kayak for its maiden voyage, but I forgot the camera. Needless to say I was pleased. She is fast, manuverable, gorgeous and fun. Can't wait to go out again. This picture is me doing the end pour. Posted by Picasa
